Little Pips Nursery

Nurturing Children. Supporting Families. Strengthening Community.

Since 2008, Little Pips has been a trusted part of the Tunbridge Wells community, providing high-quality early years education and care for local families. Now based at the Camden Centre since 2020, we’ve grown into a thriving, inclusive setting—supporting children at some of the most important stages of their development.

As a registered charity, everything we do is driven by one purpose: to support children and families—not to generate profit.

A Vital Community Service

We serve families from across Tunbridge Wells, many of whom live or work locally or have children attending nearby primary schools. Our central location, strong reputation, and inclusive approach mean demand remains high, even as several local pre-schools have closed.

Little Pips plays a critical role in enabling parents to work, supporting school readiness, and strengthening the wider community.

Inclusive, Diverse and Child-Focused

We are proud to reflect the diversity of our community:

  • 74% of children have English as an additional language
  • 18 languages spoken across our setting

We also provide tailored support for children with additional needs, including speech and language difficulties, ASD and developmental delays. What makes us different is our hands-on approach—working directly with external professionals such as therapists and support services within the setting to ensure every child gets the help they need.

We are especially committed to supporting families from lower-income backgrounds, offering funded places wherever possible and keeping costs accessible.

Operating in a Challenging Environment

Like many early years providers, we face a significant funding gap, with government contributions falling well below the true cost of care. Despite this, we have remained financially responsible and committed to maintaining quality provision for the community.

Looking Ahead

Little Pips has built a strong, resilient service over nearly two decades, supported by an experienced and dedicated team. We continue to invest in raising awareness, strengthening local partnerships, and improving how families engage with us.

However, uncertainty around the future of the Camden Centre is impacting parental confidence and new enrolments. To continue operating sustainably, we need clarity on our long-term location so families can plan with confidence.

Why It Matters

Little Pips is more than a pre-school—it is a trusted community resource that supports children, families and local employers.

With the right support and stability, we will continue to deliver the high-quality, inclusive early years provision that Tunbridge Wells relies on.
